Previous Realhouswives of Atlanta star sat down with Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave on their podcast ‘Two Ts in a Pod’ to talk about what led her to split with Mike Hill. Cynthia Bailey said on Monday, October 31, that the thing that pushed them to break was the fact that she didn’t feel like she was friends with Hill anymore.
The 55-year-old explained, “I felt like we weren’t friends anymore; I felt like it was just going toward we’re just not going to be friends if we didn’t pump the brakes.” She clarified, “This is not my first rodeo. I think friendship just has to be there in a marriage. Like, love is great, but friendship has to be there. I truly want to be with my best friend.”
Bailey continued to assure the podcasting pair that neither one of the ex-lovers regretted making the final decision. “I don’t think either one of us regrets our decision to move forward in the way we have decided to move forward. It’s not final yet. We’re still going through the process, so we’re still technically married. For me, there’s still just a lot of respect stuff on my end that I still feel like he’s my husband.” She admitted that it was an adjustment to even take her ring off for the first time in a long time.
“I took my ring off the day of the announcement, but until then, I had it on all this time. Although, we were going through some things,” Bailey added, “It’s just weird, you guys. It’s just weird.” Despite the sheer amount of things Hill and Bailey have to do before the divorce is finalized, she opened up about feeling okay and being on good terms with her soon-to-be ex-husband: “I do have good days and bad days.”
As previously reported, Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill filed for divorce this month after just under two years of marriage on relatively amicable and muddled terms.
