Cosby Attempts To Defend Fellow Sex Offender R.Kelly, Claims Set-Up

Convicted rapist Bill Cosby has said that fellow sex offender R.Kelly was railroaded in his racketeering and sex trafficking trial.

In many sex offense trials, Cosby has blamed Gloria Allred and systemic racism for Kelly’s recent conviction.

Cosby’s spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt, spoke with TMZ, and for some reason, the outlet asked him his client’s thoughts on Kelly’s conviction.

According to Wyatt, Cosby said, “The guy was railroaded.”

Of course, Wyatt’s client has his issues with Gloria Allred because she also represented many of the victims who came forward in his sex crimes trial.

Wyatt, perhaps as deluded as his client, believes that R.Kelly’s convictions will be overturned upon appeal.

Cosby’s conviction was overturned due to a prosecutorial misstep that required a judge to vacate the ruling in the interest of justice. In short, there was a deal in which Cosby would not face prosecution after having given damning testimony in a deposition about his sexual assault of one of his victims. Cosby paid settlements to several victims, so his release had little to do with his guilt or innocence.

However, Kelly did not have the same deal, so the public can be pretty confident that he will be going to prison.

Wyatt further damaged his reputation by asserting that Kelly’s attorneys did not work hard enough for him and did not humanize him. He failed to address whether or not drugging and sexually assaulting women takes into account their humanity.

While the inclination for a famous sex offender to defend another famous rapist is not shocking, this is a situation where Cosby and his representative should have remained silent.

Until sex offenders and their sympathizers realize that their actions require accountability and that consequences do not convert them into victims, we will still be bombarded with rapists believing they get an opinion.
