Popstar Ciara and her husband, NFL player Russel Wilson, have Twitter users going berserk after photos showed the “One, Two, Step” singer on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet, revealing her butt in a “barely there” dress.
Ciara posted her outfit on Instagram and received mixed reactions, most negative. It was a shimmery, fishnet-like dress showing her only wearing a thong. Her nipples weren’t showing because she had skin-colored covers on them. She topped the look with heels, black gloves and diamond earrings. The look gave classy vibes, but others found it inappropriate for the occasion (The Oscars). Little did they know, the outfit was for the afterparty with a “Barely There” theme.
Other nay-sayers condemned the outfit because it didn’t align with the married couple’s Christian image nor Wilson’s Christian values he brought to the public light in the past.
In 2015, Wilson opened up to former San Diego Chargers player and pastor Miles McPherson about his Christian values as a guest at The Rock Church, specifically abstaining from sex while he and the singer were dating.
“God spoke to me and said, ‘I need you to lead her.’ And I was like ‘Really? Right now?’ And he goes, ‘No, I want you and need you to lead her.’ And I asked her, ‘What would you do if we took all that extra stuff off the table? And just did it Jesus’ way?'” he recalled.
The “extra stuff,” meaning sex.
The Shaderoom also posted a photo of the two seemingly in church worshipping in 2021, which many people liked. However, Ciara’s Oscar Party dress left a sour taste in some people’s mouths.
Critics also called her out for being a mother and a wife who chose to dress “single.”
Ciara’s fans came to her defense, letting people know she’s married to a supportive and loving husband and has the right to keep it sexy for him, publicly or privately.
