Chingy Reacts To Being Listed In ’50 Worst Rappers’ List, Calls It ‘Invalid’

St. Louis rapper Chingy recently reacted to being listed in the viral “50 Worst Rappers” list and called it “invalid.”

During an interview with DJ Vlad’s VLAD TV on Oct. 26, Chingy responded

to the list.

“This week or last week–I’m sure if you’re familiar with it–there was a list that went viral online, and it had the list of the 50 worst rappers of all time,” executive Shawn Prez said to him. “Did you see that? What are your thoughts about that list?”

The St. Louis rapper wasted no time as he quickly responded, “Let’s talk about it.”

“People kill me. They have nothing to do. They sit around. I don’t know if they’re just watching videos or anything, and they just write down some names and say, ‘Oh, these are the 50 worst rappers,” he said. “It’s just absurd because here’s the thing, the people who are looking at it, that’s talking about it is who give it energy, or it would have no energy because to me it’s invalid because it’s subjective.”

The list, which also included hip-hop moguls Birdman and Diddy, among others, has been making rounds since August.

“50 worst rappers of all time. No easy target. ALL opinions are welcome,” the original poster @Mrkindness7 tweeted.

Chingy, who clearly felt that including him on the list was blasphemy, added that he succeeded regardless of naysayers’ opinions.

“I’ve sold over 50 million records worldwide. I still have success,” he said. “There [are] people that love me. You go ask these people, and they say, ‘yeah, we love Chingy. I love Chingy. He’s one of my favorite artists,’ I had somebody tell me this the other day. So how am I one of the worst rappers if everybody in this existence [isn’t] saying, ‘oh, that dude can’t rap he’s the worst?’ Then that mean[s] [you’re] not the worst…that list is absurd and need[s] to be done away with.”

He hasn’t said much else on the topic, but he did upload an Instagram post–which fans speculate is about new music–the following day.

“[pondering emoji] #music #love #lifestyle,” Chingy wrote in the post’s caption.
