The first lesson in being a criminal is never to leave any evidence behind. It’s a lesson a Tulsa, Oklahoma, woman found out the hard way. According to KTUL, Sharon Carr attempted to burglarize a home on Feb. 26. She forcibly entered into the window of a house where a woman was alone with two small children. Carr pried the window open with a board outside the home.
Before the attempted break-in, Carr was enjoying a tasty snack of Cheetos and a beverage. The resident heard Carr and called the police. She didn’t take anything from the home.

The publication reported that once cops arrived on the scene, they saw the suspect emerge from the shadows, and they proceeded to slap cuffs on the culprit.
So how did the police know that Carr was the suspect?
They found an empty Cheeto bag and water bottle on the house’s floor– near the open window. Police speculated the suspect dropped the items when she fled the home. The victim fingered Carr for the botched burglary. Cops confirmed that she was the guilty party because of the unmistakably orange residue that Cheeto leaves behind. Carr had the sticky treat in her teeth.
The Tulsa Police Department posted a hilarious reminder on Facebook about the difficulties of cleaning Cheeto dust.
“A good reminder that Cheeto dust can be pretty hard to get rid of.”
