Georgia news anchor Jovita Moore has officially been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

The beloved reporter asked WSB-TV to share the news after having confirmed with doctors that the masses found in her brain were indeed cancerous.

According to the outlet, Moore underwent surgery following the discovery of the massive tumors called glioblastoma.

Doctors’ diagnoses concluded that glioblastoma is an aggressive brain cancer with no cure, only treatments to slow it down.

At the time of her surgery, Moore said, “I was really concerned about why all of a sudden I was forgetful, disoriented and just not feeling myself. Feeling like I was in a fog and really wanting to get out of that fog.”

She elaborated, adding that her symptoms are more of a challenge than just feeling out of it.

“It’s significant,” she addressed the audience. “It’s gonna be a lot. Two little tumors kind of near each other, and they got to go. We had to start then– having a conversation about what that was and what that meant.”

WSB-TV Community and Public Affairs Director Condace Pressley is close friends with Moore and shared her thoughts about her buddy.

“Our girl is strong. Our girl is a fighter, and she’s doing great every day,” Pressley said.

“We laugh, and you know sometimes we talk about stuff, and we may cry a little bit. But at the end of the day, she is a fighter, and she is surrounded by love and prayers and positivity,” she continued.

“She’s a very strong woman and is raising three very strong kids who are, as we all are, right there with her.”

Moore thanked fans and friends for supporting her during what must be the toughest time in her life.

In a post shared to her Instagram at the time of her surgery, her family said, “Jovita & family are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. We ask for privacy during her recovery. Please keep Jovita & the family in your prayers. She will see your well wishes for her at www.wsbtv.com.”

Moore is being treated with radiation and chemotherapy by Dr. Edjah Nduom, who conducted her surgery at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
