CeeLo Green Falls Off A Horse At Shawty Lo’s Posthumous Birthday Party

Singer CeeLo Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway-Burton, has gone viral for an incident at Shawty Lo’s posthumous birthday party that took place on Wednesday, March 22. Green was in attendance at the party at The Bank in Atlanta, Georgia, and he decided to try and make an entrance by coming in on horseback in the middle of The Bank.

The video was shared on social media by Lil Bankhead, a radio host who attended the birthday celebration. It showed Green riding into the party on horseback, being led by animal trainers, while “Freestyle” by Lil Baby played over the speakers. The emcee got over the microphone to tell those in attendance to “get out the horse’s way.” However, just minutes after entry, the horse begins to seem agitated and starts to jolt around and make sudden movements until Green falls off the horse. Big names like Vedo, Waka Flocka Flame, and Jermaine Dupri cracked jokes in the video’s comment section showing the 47-year-old toppling off the horse.

Not everyone found the incident funny, though; PETA – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – insulted Green for his reckless choice in bringing in a horse to a crowded event. The organization reportedly told

TMZ, “ “It doesn’t take a genius to know that horses don’t belong at a noisy, crowded party, where slippery floors and strobe lights can agitate these vulnerable animals. If CeeLo bumped his head, PETA’s hoping it knocked some sense and compassion into him. PETA encourages others to not follow in his footsteps, use common senses and kindness and leave animals alone.”

Green shared a flyer promoting the party on Instagram before the event. The flyer announced that the party would be a celebration for the recently passed Shawty Lo and that it would be open to the public. Tickets for the party were set at $17.50, with $500 and $1000 sections available. The dress code for the party was all-black and had a 21-year-old and up requirement.
