Cardi B gave her Instagram followers advice to those considering undergoing a BBL procedure.
During an Instagram Live, Cardi B opened up about her history of surgical procedures on her body and advised viewers to do research before being operated on, specifically regarding butt injections.
The rapper began by denying she had work done to her body after giving birth to her 15-month son, Wave.
“In August, I did surgery and I removed 95% of my biopolymers…if you don’t know what biopolymers [are]…a** shots,” she said. “It was a really crazy process. All I’m going to say is…if you young, if you 19, if you 20, if you 21 and sometimes you too skinny, and you be like, ‘OMG I don’t have enough fat to put in my a**,’ so you result to a** shots, DON’T!”
In 2018, Cardi interviewed with GQ, revealing that she got illegal silicone shots for $800 in 2014 to make more money while stripping. The procedure happened in the basement of a woman’s apartment in Queens.
According to Healthline, augmentation injections are cheaper alternatives with high risks, like the fillers in the shots traveling to other body parts, causing infections and granuloma lumps.
“When it comes to BBLs, if y’all want advice from me before you get your BBL done, you have to make sure your blood levels are all right,” Cardi added. “If a doctor says your blood levels are too low or you have diabetes or whatever, don’t do it.”
In an interview with Mariah Carey, Cardi revealed that she was insecure as a teenager and decided to use the money she made towards her body.
“When I was 18 and became a dancer, I had enough money to afford to buy boobs, so every insecurity that I felt about my breasts was gone,” Cardi said. “When I was 20, I went to the urban strip club, and you had to have a big butt in the urban strip clubs. So I felt insecure about that. It took me back to high school. So I got my ass done.”
