Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B recently engaged in a shady Twitter exchange with British rapper Lady Leshurr over the Bronx native’s viral 2015 song, “Cheap A** Weave.”
On Aug. 2, Leshurr alleged that Cardi used the beat from her 2015 single, “Queen’s Speech 4,” for “Cheap A** Weave.” She added that the 29-year-old had gone on to become “a millionaire” while she got “paid 0.”
“You mind asking Cardi if she can break me off a likkle change,” Leshurr tweeted. “She used my beat/idea before her big break and is now a millionaire, and I got paid [zero].”

Cardi swiftly responded to her allegations, expressing that she made chump change for “Cheap A** Weave.”
“I made like [two] dollars [off] that song…you want the other dollar?” she wrote under Leshurr’s tweet.

The UK rapper’s initial tweet was prompted by a user who wrote “Cheap A** Weave” under her previous post about the seventh anniversary of “Queen’s Speech 4.” After Cardi responded to the tweet, Leshurr quoted her saying she wanted “credit.”
“[Laughing emojis] [It] would [be] nice, but tbh I just wanted my credit [and] it’s mad [that] I had to tweet banter [for] a response when I [dm’d] [you about it years ago]. I was cool [when] I thought it was just [a YouTube] cover, but it’s on streaming sites as ‘Cheap Azz Weave’ [now, and yours] comes up [before] mine, so yes, dollar [and] credit [please].”
In a now-deleted tweet, the “Hot S***” rapper ensured Leshurr that “Cheap A** Weave” would be removed from all music streaming platforms.
“I [didn’t] find the song on Apple, but if it’s on any streaming service, I will be making sure it’s [taken] down, including YouTube,” Cardi wrote. “I will also make sure I send you your dollar.”
Fans speculate that she’s taking a hiatus from music as she recently tweeted “BRB” and has since been sharing pictures of her personal life via Instagram.
