In the July/August issue, the Bronx native spoke about experience with motherhood while balancing a musical career. She currently has two children with Atlanta rapper Offset of Migos fame: Wave Set Cephus (10 months) and Kulture Kiari Cephus (four).
“It’s been very stressful,” she said in the issue.
She added that when be became pregnant at the beginning of her career, her team was “nervous” about her future.
“There weren’t a lot of artists out there who had babies at the beginning of their career. I didn’t have an album out when I found out I was pregnant,” Cardi said. “Everybody was so nervous for my career and future, but I kept telling them, ‘It’s easy. Trust me, I’m going to have a nanny, and she’s going to travel up and down with me. It’s not even going to be a hassle.'”
She also revealed that her mother, Clara Almánzar, is one of her most trusted caregivers but pointed out that she didn’t want to burden her parents by dropping her kids off with them all the time.
“Your parents have already lived their life and raised their kids. They are older and don’t have the same energy as someone in their 20s. I’m never far from my kids because that’s my responsibility as a mother.”
Twitter users reacted to Cardi’s cover and praised her for her accomplishments, including embracing motherhood, thus far.

“1 thing Cardi B gon do is release a song, give a whole concert on a main stage, drop a fashion magazine cover, release a new shoe, weigh in on politics, stand up to problematic journalism, and be a mother of two all at the same time. & if she was pregnant she’d still get it done,” user @dreadedgod said.
