Cardi B and Reebok Release New Sportswear Line, ‘Summertime Fine’

Grammy-award-winning rapper and television personality Cardi B and Reebok are teaming up again to drop their latest line called “Summertime Fine.”

Reebok’s blog reported that the line was inspired by the amusement park, Coney Island’s central features, including the boardwalk, beach workouts, and aerobic styles from the 1980s.

“We worked closely with Cardi to bring her vision for performance-wear that shapes and accentuates the body to life. She wants everyone to feel confident and contoured in these pieces,” says Reebok Cardi B Apparel Designer Morgen Kohn. “Cardi wanted to ensure that her line offered inclusivity and accessibility for all, not only through sizing but price point, design, and materials as well,” says Reebok Cardi B Apparel Product Manager Kelly Dunn.

When she created the sportswear line, the “Bodak Yellow,” rapper also thought about her fans in terms of sizes, colors, ages, and clothing material. It was essential for the rapper to be original and needed to be accessible for everyone.

“Today’s consumer is not down with BS,” says Reebok Cardi B Footwear Product Manager Molly Kazarian. “They see through brands. With the Cardi B shoe collection, it’s clear she didn’t do it for a check. After collaborating with her, we ultimately just let her be herself. Cardi was really specific about how she wanted the collection to be accessible. Accessibility is clearly important to her, and you can see this everywhere from sizing to the price point.”

The “Summertime Fine” sportswear line includes bodysuits, leggings, cropped sweatshirts,  high-cut leg holes, thong-seaming cutlines on leggings, and colorways of Cardi’s redesigned Club C shoes for adults and toddlers. The price will range from $40 to $100, and the sizes for the collection go up to 4X. The collection will premiere live on Friday, April 23, on Reebok.com.

The Bronx native worked with Reebok previously on her sneaker line, Club C, and it was designed based on her vibrant and colorful personality. Club C sold out immediately. The sneaker is available in all sizes, including kids, and the “WAP” rapper’s daughter, was her biggest inspiration.

“I remember when Reebok came out with hot-pink, neon-gree styles, and I wanted them so bad, but I couldn’t afford them. My mom, she used to work and only wear black OG Reeboks, and that’s all she wore. She’d wear the same pair for like three years. I always say to keep in mind the price. These are my fans. I don’t want to be taxing my fans.”
