Kanye West and his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, have continued their ongoing feud regarding their children and whether or not they should be exposed to social media. Candace Owens defended the Yeezy’s founder against the KUWTK star in a tweet on Friday.
The conservative commentator, 32, said, “Kim is wrong on this one,” after she seemingly allowed her 8-year-old daughter North to have access to Tik Tok.
“The psychological effects of social media on young girls is real and documented,” she said. “It’s actually Kanye that is trying to protect his daughter in this regard, and Kim is spinning this as “obsession” and “control.” There are other creative outlets for kids.”
“There is no eight-year-old in the world that needs social media. Go color,” she tweeted.
Kardashian created a joint account with her daughter in November 2021.
On Friday, the 44-year-old took to Instagram to address the issue regarding his daughter using the video-sharing app.
“SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL ?” he wrote.
Kardashian responded to West’s accusations, claiming he has been “obsessed” with trying to “control and manipulate” their pending divorce, Page Six reported.
“Kanye’s constant need for attacking me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” she said in a statement on Friday. “As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness.”
She continued, “Divorce is difficult enough on our children, and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.”
The 41-year-old went on to say that she wanted to have a healthy co-parenting relationship with West for the sake of their four children.
“It saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way,” she said. “I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately, and hopefully, he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably.”
Since then, West has thanked Owens for supporting him on his Instagram account, “THANK YOU, CANDACE FOR BEING THE ONLY NOTEWORTHY PERSON TO SPEAK ON THIS ISSUE THERE’S A LOT OF CELEBRITIES SCARED TO SAY SOMETHING IN PUBLIC BUT THEY’LL TEXT ME IN PRIVATE AND SAY [THEY’RE] ON MY SIDE.
“I WILL NO LONGER PUT MY HAND THROUGH A BLENDER TO HUG MY CHILDREN,” he continued, “MY MOTHER TOOK ME TO CHICAGO WHEN I WAS 3 AND TOLD MY DAD IF HE CAME TO CHICAGO HE WOULD NEVER SEE ME AGAIN SO I BOUGHT THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR I DREAM OF A WORLD WHERE DAD’S CAN STILL BE HEROES.”
