Bride Goes Viral For Praying For Her Single Friends At Wedding Reception

A bride went viral after taking a non-traditional approach during her wedding reception. Instead of tossing the bouquet after exchanging wedding vows, she decided to pray over the women in her life.

Life coach Lakeisha Dixon Jones paused in the middle of the wedding reception and explained her reason for making the kind gesture. Then, while praying for her friends, she gifted each woman a white flower from her wedding bouquet.

Jones took to Instagram and shared the viral moment on her page, writing, “Praying for my single friends was not an option; they were there for me. I had to give them a piece of my bouquet. I had to speak a decree. Finding love at 42 is a testament of God’s Glory.”

During her speech, Jones thanked her friends for being the support system she needed to get through the challenging moments in her life.

“Most of you been on my couch, we’ve been on phone calls, we cried, prayed, fasted, we’ve done prayer calls. And I think it’s only right that my two bridesmaids walk behind me as I give you your flowers.”

She continued, “My hope and joy is that your wait will not be in vain, and my joy is that God is going to bless you with a suitable man that’s right for you. Because as I have prayed and you have prayed for me, now it’s my turn. I don’t ever want to forget about the time I was crying and single.”

At 42, Jones found the love of her life and became a married woman. And with her friends by her side, she chose to ditch the age-old tradition that married women should no longer be friends with non-married women.

“I don’t subscribe to drop your single friend now that you got a man. That’s a passed-down tradition, and it’s not necessary,” Jones said in a separate Instagram post. “Do I believe in boundaries? Yes! But I believe God has called me to make an impact and be a blessing.”

In 2017, Jones founded the Breakthrough Coaching Leadership Academy (BCLA), providing women with the essential tools to become successful coaches, authors, and entrepreneurs. According to the website, she “travels the globe with a tried and true message of how God took one girl with “no degrees, only decrees” and made her a media mogul.”
