Nick Cannon has revealed that his 5-month-old son Zen has passed away.
On Tuesday, the 41-year-old media personality shared the news with the audience and home viewers of his daytime talk show, The Nick Cannon Show. Zen, the youngest child in Nick’s brood, succumbed to hydrocephalus, “the buildup of fluid in the cavities (ventricles) deep within the brain. The excess fluid increases the size of the ventricles and puts pressure on the brain.”
He opened up the segment, saying, “I had a tough..very tough weekend.”
“Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus…brain cancer,” Nick said through tears. “It’s tough. And I have my therapist here, who’s been helping us through it.”

Nick typically featured a pic of the day on the show, and for today’s segment– he selected Zen’s photo. The audience applauded the adorable photo of the infant as Nick broke the news.
The Wildin Out star disclosed that his children have his round head. Zen’s head size became a cause of concern. He was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, and the baby took a turn for the worse around Thanksgiving.
Nick shared that right before his youngest son passed away- they spent quality time together on the beach. The actor said he held his son alive for the last time on December 5. He passed away shortly after the trip to the ocean.
Nick has seven children. Morocco and Monroe, 10, are his oldest children from ex-wife Mariah Carey. Powerful Queen and Golden are his children from Brittany Bell. He also has twin sons – Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with Abby De La Rosa and Baby Zen with model Alyssa Scott.
We are praying for Nick and his family, and we send our condolences.
