According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is a musical movie in the works inspired by the iconic R&B group Boyz II Men titled, Brotherly.
The film Brotherly will follow a group of men who, according to the synopsis for the movie, “will return to West Philadelphia for a high school reunion 20 years after having gone their separate ways — eventually finding hope, redemption, and a new understanding of the enduring power of friendship.”
The three band members of Boyz II Men, Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman, will be executive producing the project. Malcolm D. Lee, producer of Space Jam: A New Legacy and Girls Trip, is also expected to direct and co-produce the film.
The movie will be written by Marcus Gardley, who also wrote the upcoming musical adaptation for The Color Purple and What’s Going On, based on Marvin Gaye’s life.

John Davis and John Fox, who have been recently featured in the film Jungle Cruise, will also produce the project alongside Lee as part of his Blackmaled Productions.
Eric Bromberg, Joe Mulvihill, Davis Entertainment’s Jeremy Stein, and Sheila Walcott will also produce the film.
The film announcement is just another one of the latest updates to a busy time for the guy band. According to People, Boyz II Men is also set to appear on ABC’s A Very Boy Band Holiday.
The special will feature members of several musical groups including, New Edition, NSYNC, NKOTB, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees, and O-Town, as they ring in the holidays with some Christmas jingles.
The outlet reported that the singers will “rock the holidays with classic tunes and their groups’ greatest holiday hits.”
The Grio reported that the Boyz II Men group is originally from Philadelphia and is famous for their hit, Grammy-award winning ’90s tunes. Some of their popular songs include “End of the Road,” “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” “On Bended Knee,” and “I’ll Make Love to You.”
