Boxer Floyd Mayweather Refuses To Take Photo With Fan Because His Nails Were Painted
Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather refused to take a selfie with a fan after a Clipper’s basketball game in Los Angeles on October 23 after noticing that the boy’s nails were painted.TMZ Sports reported
that the hopeful young fan attempted to get a picture with Mayweather after the Clippers vs. Grizzlies game at Staples Center over the weekend. The teenager came up to Mayweather as he stood on the basketball court. When he approached the boxer, Mayweather took one look at his painted black fingernails and shut the teen down.“You got painted nails, I don’t take pictures with guys with no painted nails,” Floyd was heard saying in a video recorded by the fan and shared by The Shade Room, as Mayweather’s bodyguard tells the fan to back away from the boxer and his crew.
The fan appeared confused and visibly upset by the interaction saying, “Floyd doesn’t want to take a picture with me because my nails are painted. Bruh, really?!”Witnesses told the outlet that Floyd didn’t have a problem taking photos with the other fans who approached him that night. He was reportedly seen posing and smiling on the court.
Despite the ridiculous confrontation being the latest of Floyd’s outlandish outbursts, this isn’t the first time the boxer has shut a fan down. Another time, one of Mayweather’s guards chose to resort to physical violence against a fan.Floyd’s guards allegedly got down and dirty and beat up a fan at a Las Vegas mall two years ago on Thanksgiving eve after asking for a photo with the athlete.
According to the Calgary Sun, another bad-judgment call in August of 2017 led Mayweather to make a public apology after having used a homophobic slur when regarding his boxing rival, Conor McGregor.
Regardless of personal choices, Mayweather seems to be behind the trends seeing as hella men paint their fingernails in the name of self-expression.
