Baton Rouge rap veteran, Boosie Badazz, defended Rihanna against media personality DJ Vlad after he criticized her for not being married before getting pregnant.
During an interview with Vlad, Boosie stood up for the Grammy Award-winning singer and entrepreneur. The 48-year-old podcast host said he was disappointed that Rihanna didn’t get married before getting pregnant because he felt someone of her stature should have done the reverse. However, her longtime admirer wasn’t having it.
“I’ll be honest though–and I’ve talked to a few people about this–I was a little bit disappointed that Rihanna did not get married before having that baby,” he told Boosie. “I feel that someone of her caliber when I look at people that are her peers-”
Before completing his thought, the “Set It Off” rapper quickly interrupted him. “Your peers? F**k all that. It’s what makes you happy,” he responded in his thick Louisiana accent. “Nobody, don’t give a f**k about peers. She’s a billionaire. What she gotta follow somebody else’s drip for? She know what she f*****g doing. Everybody don’t gotta be m****r f*****s that jump in marriages…real talk.”
Vlad then mentioned that Riri and A$AP Rocky discussed getting married when their baby arrived. The couple reportedly said they planned to wed in Barbados, where the singer and her rapper boyfriend’s late father were born.
To that sentiment, Boosie told him that he shouldn’t judge them for their decisions.
“Okay, well that’s what they gone do, but you can’t judge [Rihanna] for not being married. Like bro, people f****n. If a baby’s coming, the baby’s coming.”
The conversation didn’t end there, though, as Vlad kept going and weirdly asked the 39-year-old rapper what he would do if he and RihRih were dating and she got pregnant.
“If you and Rihanna were dating, and she told you she’s pregnant, and she’s like listen, I wanna before I announce this to the world, you wouldn’t say no?”
Naturally, Boosie responded, “No, it’s Rihanna.”
Ironically, he said that Rocky should get the superstar pregnant last year. In another interview with Vlad, released on Jun. 1, 2021, he encouraged the 33-year-old to knock up his girlfriend, saying, “He need to put a baby in there, really.”
He added that he would have done the same if he were in his position.
“I would have been sk****d in her.”
The king of TMI has been a regular on Vlad TV since his first appearance on the series with fellow Baton Rouge rapper Webbie during the late 2000s.
