The highly anticipated third season of the popular crime drama BMF just got even better with the announcement of two new guest stars.
Rapper 2 Chainz and R&B singer Ne-Yo have officially signed on to join the cast for the upcoming season, which is set to premiere later this year.
According to Variety, 2 Chainz, 45, will play Stacks, an Atlanta-born distributor.
Starz describes him as “Fiercely loyal and determined to provide for his family no matter the cost, Stacks lives by the street code and challenges Meech’s leadership style.”
Ne-Yo, 43, will play Rodney “Greeny” Green, a local Atlanta player whose mind is on the money. “Filled with swagger and an entrepreneurial spirit, there’s more than meets the eye to Greeny,” Starz said.
2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, is a rapper, songwriter, and record producer who first gained fame as one-half of the 90s rap duo Playaz Circle. He has since released several successful solo albums, including Based on a T.R.U. Story and Pretty Girls Like Trap Music.
Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Smith, is an R&B singer, songwriter, and actor who has won multiple Grammy Awards for his music. He has released several successful albums, including In My Own Words and Year of the Gentleman.
The addition of 2 Chainz and Ne-Yo, who are both repped by APA Agency, to the BMF cast is just the latest example of how the show is continuing to attract top talent. BMF also had a huge list of stars including La La Anthony, Snoop Dogg, Lil Zane, Leslie Jones and Mo’Nique.
