Black Rob Grieves DMX From Hospital Bed, But Fans Are Worried About His Health

DMX passed away this past Friday after being on life support for a week. He had initially suffered a heart attack that was allegedly brought on by a drug overdose, we reported earlier. Since then, Black Rob, a longtime associate of DMX and fellow rap artist, spoke in a video about his friend’s passing. But fans couldn’t help but notice that Black Rob was lying down in a hospital bed and that his health appeared to be in bad shape. DJ Self has since confirmed that the rapper is suffering from kidney failure.

In an Instagram video uploaded by DJ Self, Black Rob spoke glowingly about DMX,

saying “I feel everything about X, man. X was love…positive. Big love to X, man.”

Barely able to open his eyes, and confined to a hospital bed, fans grew concerned over the “Whoa!” rapper’s health.

DJ Self captioned the video asking fans to pray for Black Rob.

On Saturday, DJ Self offered anxious fans an update on Black Rob, saying that he is currently out of the hospital but “not at 100%.” Though his ailment isn’t yet known, he revealed on his Instagram that Black Rob’s kidneys are failing.

“This is nowhere to shame anyone or show off a person at [their] low point just simply to get help there have been a few top celebrities who reached out to help thank you,” DJ Self wrote. “Black Rob kidneys are failing again. I’m here just to send out the message to see if someone can help. He wanted me to post a video to tell you what’s wrong w him but is having a hard time doing so.”

A few hours later, the radio personality uploaded an update video of Black Rob, who appeared to be doing much better. “I’ve been dealing with this, man, for five years,” he said. “Four strokes…I don’t know what to tell you, man. This sh** is crazy.” He ended the clip by saying that he needs rest and winces at his pain.

Let’s keep Black Rob in our thoughts as he hopefully recovers from this.
