Beyonce Teams Up With Balmain & Drops Renaissance Couture

Beyonce has teamed up with French luxury fashion house Balmain to drop an exquisite fashion collection inspired by her hit “Renaissance” album that was dropped in 2022. The R&B icon’s Renaissance Couture by Beyonce x Balmain was dropped on March 24 and was popularly unveiled on social media.

The collection is comprised of 16 different outfits, each of which is dedicated to the 16 different songs on the Grammy award-winning album. The outfits were designed by the creative director of Balmain, Oliver Rousteing. Beyonce, 41, was featured on the cover of Vogue France, showing off an outfit from the Renaissance Couture collection. She shared the photo on her Instagram, captioning the stunning post, “

Touching everything in my plain view, and everything next to me gets lit up, too.” Later, Balmain posted a video that showed off all 16 designer outfits.

Thank you, @olivier_rousteing and @balmain, for bringing RENAISSANCE to life in couture. Designing alongside you was freeing-thank you for allowing me to celebrate the human form, to take artistic risks, to push boundaries and to freely express myself.” Beyonce thanked the team for all their work on the collection, “To the @voguefrance team, thank you for trusting in our vision and sharing it with the world.”

Beyonce released a statement praising Oliver Rousteing specifically for pushing the boundaries as a Black designer. She said, “

Olivier is a dream collaborator and a constantly innovating and evolving creative. All that he has done as a Black designer in breaking down and opening doors has been inspiring.”

“From our very first meeting to his designs over the years for my performances and appearances, I knew one day I would work with him on a collection. I am so proud of what we created and the synergy that formed between our teams.”

According to Vogue, Oliver, “who is unmatched in terms of imagination and a master of epic proportions, was blown away by ‘Renaissance,’ the star’s latest album, and made 16 outfits, hand in hand with Beyonce herself, dedicated to the album’s 16 tracks. Together, they have created a unique concept, ‘Renaissance Couture,’ the first wearable album!”

Oliver had quite a bit of praise for Beyonce as well, describing her album as being unique in its ability to inspire his fashion vision during the process of designing Renaissance Couture.
