Grammy-award-winning artist Beyoncé celebrated the first anniversary of the visual album Black is King with the release of two videos.
On Saturday, the “Single Ladies” singer released “MOOD 4 EVA,” featuring her husband, Jay-Z. and as well as “OTHERSIDE.”
According to Black Enterprise, Beyoncé wrote, directed, and executively produced the visual album and music film Black is King, which was released on Disney+ a year.
It was created as an accompaniment to The Lion King.
In an Instagram post about the movie, she wrote, “The events of 2020 have made the film’s vision and message even more relevant, as people across the world embark on a historic journey.”
“I only hope that from watching, you leave feeling inspired to continue building a legacy that impacts the world in an immeasurable way.”

In the music video, she’s giving the nod to her African roots and amplifying various facets of African culture.
“I am Beyonce, Giselle Knowles-Carter. I am the Nala – Sister of Naruba….I sold my whole chain. I be like soul food. I am a whole mood.”

According to Comic Book, Disney said Black is King “is an affirmation of a grand purpose, with lush visuals that celebrate Black resilience and culture. The film highlights the beauty of tradition and Black excellence.”
A fan commented under the MOOD 4 EVA video saying, “Even better for me in what draws me to her..is her great love and respect she showcases for our motherlands culture, for our ancestors and she shows in her music how powerful, royal and great we really are…it really is a beauty and the fact that she continues to use her platform to create a sense of our greatness is remarkable..much respect sis much respect.”
