Following the repulsive photo of Candance Owens wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt next to Kanye West, the Republican commentator spoke at Michigan State University for a Turning Point USA college event and brazenly stated that it’s tough to be a white male in America.
Senior Researcher for Media Matters For America, Jason Campbell, posted a video of Owens making her statement.
Candace Owens: “The actually worst thing to be in this society — if one thing I would not want to be is a straight white male,” adding “It’s really staggering to think that, once upon a time, that is exactly what the experience was for a Black American” pic.twitter.com/CAAmABpiYc

“We’ve now somehow gotten into the society where people are pretending what we’re doing is equality,” she stated. “It’s not. If we have ever achieved an equality in this country, then you wouldn’t blink if anybody says ‘Asian Lives Matter’; no one blinks. ‘Black Lives Matter,’ no one blinks. But, ‘White Lives Matter.’ They fell apart. Right?”
This Republican nuisance then dared to say that the most challenging thing in this society is being a straight white man.
“I will stand by this as much as I possibly can, and I will be the loudest voice, the actually worst thing to be in this society — the one thing I would not want to be is a straight white male,” Owens stated. “For some reason, that’s considered problematic.”
And her reasoning behind this historically-proven wrong statement is that white men have to pretend to be “non-white” because those who support or identify with the minorities that have been oppressed by the majority (white people) are apparently against white straight males. She stated how these “oppressed” white straight males feel the need to lie on their college applications.
“You have to be something,” She stated. “It’s like, people lie, they’re lying on college applications. They’re like, ‘OK, I’m white, but I’m also trans.’ And you’re like, ‘What? Why are you pretending?’ Because ‘I don’t want people to think I’m too normal.’”
She compared the “oppressed white straight male” experience to Black Americans’ experience during slavery and segregation.
“And people, you know, they’re just trying to find something that makes them not white, right? And it’s really staggering to think that once upon a time, that is exactly what the experience was for a Black American,” Owens stated.
The video ended with Owens saying, “Being a Black American was so problematic that you weren’t going to be allowed into the room. Now you have the exact same thing happening in reverse, and you have liberals trying to convince you that that’s equality,” she said. “It’s not! All lives matter. And that’s including white lives matter, you know?”
