Ashanti has sparked rumors once again after posing with and posting a picture of an unnamed gentleman acquaintance. The man is Caucasian, which made the speculation more juicy. 

In the photo she posted on her Instagram page, she and the man who seemed to have a penchant for the sock-free look wore Colgate smiles and stood more than church close to each other.

In subsequent videos, Ashanti and her male companion appeared to party with waitstaff and other friends at a restaurant. She captioned the photo, “Great times,” and followed it with the Mexican flag. The location mentioned Cancun. 

Within an hour, the Black folks on the internet decided that the lean Chaddington in the photo was her boyfriend.

On Friday, the singer disappointed the rumor propagators.

“Lmaoooo NO!” she said. “He’s one of the managers at the restaurant!!! He is NOT my man, and we are NOT DATING,” she continued. 

Whew! That was a close call for all of the fans who worried they might have had to start shopping for wedding attire. 

After a significant career as an R&B artist and

making J. Lo songs easier to listen to– Ashanti has kept social media on its toes by showing her thighs and playing coy about her romantic life.

Last week, there was speculation that the singer was dating pop/rap star Flo Rida, after they were spotted together in Cancun. She denied any romantic involvement and said they were celebrating her sister’s birthday and that Flo Rida is “like family.”

The singer’s fans have recently speculated that she and artist Joyner Lucas are dating after the two shared a steamy kiss on the “Fall Slowly” video. 

Ashanti, who dated rapper Nelly for a decade before breaking up in 2014, is certainly a living representation of the admonition to stay out of grown folks’ business.
