Ari Lennox Says No More Interviews After MacGyver ‘MacG’ Mukwevho Asks Sex Question, And Gives South Africa The Finger

Singer Ari Lennox is unhappy with MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho after appearing on his podcast, Podcast and Chill, on Jan. 21. Mukwevho offended Lennox after asking her a personal question about her sex life.

MacG and Lennox were discussing her single “Pop.” The track has explicit lyrics about a sexual relationship and frequently uses the F-word.

“Pop this p*ssy/ For you tonight/ Will you promise? Baby/ Won’t you make a promise?/ That you’ll make me your wife/ If you really love me/ I’ll f*ck you good/ I’ll f*ck you good/ F*ck you good, f*ck you good.”
Lennox explained the meaning of her song before concluding with, “What the fuck?” Mukwevho, seemingly meaning to ask Lennox if she was
dating, fumbled and used the song’s lyrics to ask his question.

“And where are we at right now?” asked MacG. “Is someone fucking you good right now?”

Chile! Ari Lennox did not appreciate how the question was phrased, and she let MacG know that he was inappropriate.

“Oh my god,” she said. “That’s a wild question. Why ask it that way? Whoa.”

“‘Cuz that’s what you say in the song,” he nervously giggled.

The interview continued smoothly after a rough start. However, Lennox later took to Twitter to note her discontent in a string of now-deleted posts. The Shade Room captured

the Tweets before they were deleted.

“I’m just like… why was I alone on a call full of people?” she said of her interview with MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho. “Why didn’t anyone intervene? And why wasn’t parts of the interview destroyed like the team promised? Why did it happen to begin with? I just feel slow and ambushed and blind-sighted.”

“Just because I happily and freely sing/write about sex don’t make any kind of creepy disrespect warranted. I clearly was in immense shock and hate that I didn’t react differently.”

“But f*ck it! I don’t want anyone feeling sorry for me. I’m tired of the narrative. Exhausted. I’m good I promise. But as for interviews I’m not doing them anymore. There’s enough lives and interviews out there already.”

“I’ve been my most happiest creating music and exploring life sober. I’m not allowing anything to tamper with my peace anymore.”

After one fan claimed Lennox brought the question upon herself with her explicit lyrics and suggested she rebrand, Lennox responded by calling the fan a b**ch.

“No rebranding necessary you misogynistic b*tch! I enjoy how I express myself in my music,” she wrote.

She went on to say that she had never been disrespected with such a predatory question and was taken aback. She also replied to a fan who accused her of not writing her own songs.

“I wrote every lyric on my Shea Butter album you worthless germ!” wrote Lennox. “I was completely shocked and have never in my life been asked such a distasteful and predatory question. Regardless of what the hell I wrote don’t give you losers the right to justify the disrespect.”

Lennox responded after a fan claimed she was being bullied into deleting her tweets.

“No one is “bullying me” into deleting my tweets. I had enough of giving clout to losers. And sometimes I just like a clean slate. I’ve been this way all my life.”
