Anthony Anderson has moved to New York City, and he’s already experiencing the life of a New Yorker!
The 51-year-old comedian shared a hilarious video of him driving a stranger’s vehicle earlier this week. Anderson was at a Best Buy in Manhattan purchasing multiple plasma televisions for his new apartment. After realizing he had no way of getting them home, he asked the man in front of him if he could help him out.
“This brother Alex was ahead of me in line, so I asked if he would drive me to my place, and he agreed,” he captioned the post. “What he didn’t tell me was that he had someone in the car and that it was full of work equipment. But we made it work! Just another one for the books!”
In the one-minute clip, the Black-ish star captured his new acquaintance, Alex, sitting on the lap of what appeared to be his girlfriend, Charm.

Fans flooded the comment section, welcoming Anderson to the big apple while praising the Black couple for helping another Black man in his time of need.
“Welcome to NYC 😂 @anthonyanderson 📺❤,” one commenter said.
Journalist Roland Martin said, “I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE!!!”
Another commenter said, “Welcome to NYC, brother, and I’m glad they didn’t kidnap you 😩😝”
“These are the best kind of people!!! 😂😂😂- “yeah, we’ll take you”…knowing ain’t no room for you, but they gone figure it out,” one fan said.
Anderson and the couple were all smiles in the video as he revealed, “But not only am I driving their car, what y’all need to see is that I’m driving, but the car is in reverse!” He turned the camera toward the dashboard and showed the gear selector was in R. “It’s in reverse!” He said while explaining Alex’s car.
“Those are my TVs in the back, as y’all can see right there,” he pointed to the multiple TVs stacked in the back. “If I don’t make it back to the set of Law & Order, call the police. This is what they look like!” Anderson joked at the end of the video.
In February, the actor told People Magazine that he was reprising his role as Detective Kevin Bernard in the original Law & Order series by the show’s creator, Dick Wolf.
“I’m back in the shoes of Detective Kevin Bernard, doing what we do best: solving crimes, ripped from the headlines,” he shared.
The new season of Law & Order airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
