Anita Baker fans let Taylor Swift know to respect our elders after she called Baker by her first name on social media.
As reported by Sister 2 Sister, the eight-time Grammy winner finally won her master recordings and posted the good news on Twitter on Sept. 3.
The 31-year-old Swift congratulated 63-year-old Baker on Twitter for winning the copyrights to her impressive collection of music. Baker has two gold albums and four platinum albums under her belt.
Swift called the “Sweet Love” singer winning her masters a beautiful moment and Baker shared the Tweet.
“What a beautiful moment, CONGRATULATIONS ANITA!!”

If Baker was offended by the post, she didn’t show it because she kept it classy and shared Swift’s post while thanking her for her support.
“Thank You, for Your *Fire & Support!! It Inspires us all, to move Mountains🙌🏾.”

Swift had been a supporter for sometime in Baker’s quest to gain ownership over her master recordings. Swift had her own struggle for ownership over her masters, and the two women previously Tweeted about their shared experience.
Baker posted on Twitter in March to request that her fans not stream any of her music until she gained control over her masters.
“🎁Miraculously… i have out-lived *ALL, of my Artists Contracts🎈,” she wrote. “They no longer ‘Own,’ My Name & Likeness. And, by Law…30 yr old, Mstrs are 2B Returned, 2 Me🎼. Unfortunately, They’re gonna make me Fight 4 it. I’m Prepared, 2 do that. Please Dont advertise/buy them🎈💓,” she wrote in a March tweet.”

While Swift addressing Baker may have been a faux pas in the community, it would seem that she meant no disrespect to the living legend.
