Actress Angelica Ross caught flack on social media after telling a story about a random encounter with problematic rapper DaBaby.
Ross shared the anecdote on Tuesday night in a thread posted to her personal Twitter page.
“Storytime…I actually met DaB*by earlier this year,” she wrote. Flew home to ATL and had his gaze stuck on me as I walked towards him because he was standing next to my limo driver. He looked at the sign, then back at me, ‘Miss Ross,’ he read aloud. I just laughed & left with my driver.”

Okay. Um, you could have kept this to yourself. Thought you were gonna say DaBaby try to holler or something.

The story ended there, but many Twitter users were taken aback and questioned her motive for discussing the brief meeting.
Sit down with this dry ass story. I’m not team dababy right now but this story ain’t important at all. Hell he probably wouldn’t even remembered this happened if it happened

“What are we supposed to do with this story, sis?” questioned one person.
The vocal POSE actress returned to Twitter the following afternoon to clap back.
One thing folks know about ME…I don’t have to lie to kick it! I don’t make up stories unless I’m being paid to thru SAG-AFTRA for film & television 🚫 🧢

When one follower asked her what the story was supposed to say about DaBaby, she gave a lengthier response.
It’s not what it says about him, but what it says about me and other trans women. We don’t ALL entertain these men & their nonsense. The universe was speaking to me. Had NOTHING to do with him. The moral of every story doesn’t center around y’all is the point. https://t.co/efgIBTJSZk

Eventually, Ross grew tired of arguing with her critics and dismissed them with another clap back and a Beyonce gif. She directly addressed Twitter trolls who used the backlash as an excuse to be transphobic.
People proving my point & then some in the comments 😂 Like it’s WILD. I’m being told both I look like a dude AND that no one cares, while the reality is y’all expected a messy trans story but got plain dry FACTS. We are women. FACT. Men will be attracted to trans women 📠

DaBaby has been receiving smoke since he went on a homophobic rant during his Rolling Loud set. He has issued a few half-apologies since various festivals dropped him from their rosters.
