The following day, she clarified her tweet during an episode of The Breakfast Club, saying it would continue without her. Yee added that she would be staying with the iHeart family to launch her own nationally syndicated radio show.
“This is really exciting,” she said on the Aug. 10 episode. “This is something that I’ve been waiting to do for years now, way before the pandemic. I had actually sat down with our big boss…and I was telling her, ‘Look, I really wanna have my own show.’ You know, I have my podcast’ Lip Service,’ and I was thinking [that] I would be able to get something like a weekend situation…They approached me at iHeart…and told me that [they’re] gonna give me my very own show.”
The East Flatbush, Brooklyn native also tweeted that she will co-host The Breakfast Club for one more month.
“I’m still here for at least a month,” she wrote.

The show went on to become widely known for its hilarious interviews of notable celebrities in hip-hop and pop culture, including actors, rappers, music executives, political figures, community activists and many more.
In 2013, the hit radio program was expanded from solely weekdays to a weekend version and began airing on Revolt TV in 2014. It was even inducted into the Radio Hall Of Fame in 2020.
