T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach are no longer employees of ABC News. And according to anonymous sources, both former anchors were compensated generously by the network. Unsurprisingly, Ms. Robach received more than her beau.
Sources told Page Six that Roback received a higher settlement than Holmes. Specifics on how much wasn’t disclosed.
“Amy’s been at ABC a lot longer and has a much bigger contract [than Holmes],” a source said.
Another factor that contributed to Robach getting paid more, she began working for the network in 2012 (longer than Holmes) and had multiple co-hosting gigs —- GMA3 and 20/20. Holmes started working for the network in 2014.
While it’s understandable that Robach may have had the upper leg because she worked there longer and did more than her lover, what’s confusing is why the network would pay more to the same woman who looked executives in the eyes and lied, saying the romance rumors were false.
Another insider said that with an NDA in the picture, more money might have been distributed to the two in addition to the possible amount they were owed for the remainder of their contracts.
Regardless of who’s getting paid more, Robach is standing by her man, and Holmes is standing by his woman.
The Daily Mail reported that Holmes was ring shopping on Saturday for his woman to celebrate her 50th birthday. Photos showed the journalist at David Yurman’s downtown Manhattan store looking at the ring section with a smile. The outlet said he settled on buying a $650 18-karat gold Unity Cable ring — a promise ring!
He then went to a Tiffany & Co. store to buy a gold chain. He took the gold ring out and placed it on the gold chain. He gave the chain back to the store clerk to be bagged.
Robach was spotted wearing the same ring and chain while shopping on Tuesday.
