Amber Rose and Joseline Hernandez’s Explosive Race Debate

In case you missed it, Amber Rose and Joseline Hernandez found themselves in a heated altercation on the set of College Hill: Celebrity Edition, sparked by a discussion about race and identity.

For those who aren’t familiar, Amber Rose, 39, is a well-known model and activist with a biracial background. Her mother is half Black Cape Verdean and half Scottish, while her father is of Italian and Irish descent. On the other hand, Joseline Hernandez, 36, also known as the “Puerto Rican Princess,” is a reality TV personality and rapper from Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta

, identifying as a Black woman.

Hernandez known for her outspoken nature, opened up about her identification as a Black woman and didn’t hold back in referring to Rose as a “Karen.”

“You came out of a Black p*ssy but you don’t want to say you’re Black,” Hernandez said in a recent interview on The Breakfast Club.

Some people rallied behind Joseline, showing support for her perspective and applauding her for challenging her biracial identity by embracing her Blackness:

“It’s crazy how right Joseline is. Amber Rose eats up having black features but definitely would rather be a fully white woman,” one user wrote.

“I hate to say it but I hope Joseline won. Amber spent 75% of her career selling an ‘I’m black’ fantasy and now she wants to be reserved on the topic,” another commented.

Others defended Amber’s right to self-identify:

“Amber is a mixed woman, even her mom is mixed. Why y’all forcing blackness on her?, one fan wrote.

“I don’t even like Amber, and I’m with Amber on this one. If she’s proud of both sides of where she comes from, why can’t she stand up for both?, another said.

In the midst of all the drama, let’s not forget the larger lesson. This celebrity clash serves is a wake-up call to embrace the complexities and nuances of our diverse world and be up for the challenge of having these bold and unfiltered conversations.
