Amara La Negra shared the tragic news that she has suffered a miscarriage. The artist made the announcement on Instagram on Oct. 19.
The 31-year-old announced her pregnancy during an episode of the reality show Love & Hip Hop: Miami last summer. The musician wrote that she didn’t know what was happening and thought she had cramps due to fibroids.
The Love & Hip Hop star said that she’d had the miscarriage several months ago and thanked people for their support. She also posted a video of her ultrasound with the announcement.
The reality star said she found out she was expecting last July despite using birth control with boyfriend Allan Mueses. After two weeks, she experienced blood clots and cramping but assumed it was her fibroids.
Once she realized what was happening, it was too late, and she’d had a miscarriage. She wrote a heartbreaking account of the miscarriage on Instagram.
“I had a miscarriage!,” she wrote. “This happened many months ago! I had a miscarriage like 2 weeks in…I didn’t even know till I started bleeding which lasted like 3 weeks…thanks for all the good wishes.”
“I had no idea what was going on,” she continued. “I cried for days cause I really did want to have that baby! I’m not getting any younger and I’ve always been afraid of waiting too long ‘til it’s too late. I had so many dreams and hopes that just bled out of me. My motherly and nurturing instincts kicked in, but it was too late.”
“Back on July, I found out I was pregnant. I didn’t even know or suspected being pregnant because I took all the measures to prevent it, however, 2 weeks after missing my period I started bleeding, having really bad cramps! Blood clogs, I had no idea what was going on I figured it was Maybe it was the Fibroids I have in my ovaries acting up which I’ve never spoken about either. Just to find out I was having a miscarriage.”
The musician later deleted the post but shared another post about her new television show. She wrote a caption with the post inviting viewers to watch.
“So Anyways… Don’t Forget to Watch My NEW TV SHOW “Don’t Cancel Me” with Amara La Negra on @fusetv This December 1st! I’m so Excited! The Show That Doesn’t cancel for Voicing your Opinion!”
