Alyssa Scott Posts Touching Tribute To Baby Zen On Social Media Following His Death On Sunday

Alyssa Scott honored her dearly-departed baby, Zen, on Instagram on Wednesday.

The grieving mother wrote a touching post in remembrance of Zen who passed away on Sunday from hydrocephalus– a complication of a brain tumor. The caption talked about Alyssa’s short time loving her son and how much joy he brought to her life. She also posted a video of Baby Zen’s life.

The montage included candid shots of Zen sleeping as his big sister “read” to him, being bathed by Alyssa, “posing” for cute baby photos in a basket, lying in a hospital bed and playing a toy piano.

“Oh, my sweet Zen. The soreness I felt in my arm from holding you is slowly fading away. It’s a painful reminder that you are no longer here. I caught myself looking in the backseat as I was driving only to see the mirror no longer reflecting your perfect face back at me,” she expressed. “When I close a door too loudly, I hold my breath and wince, knowing a soft cry will shortly follow. It doesn’t come. The silence is deafening.”

She continued, “These last five months, we have been in this race together. We would hand the baton off to each other. You kept me going. It would be the middle of the night, and you would smile at me. A surge of energy would fill my body, and pure joy would radiate from within me. We were a team. Both determined to see it through. It feels unbearable running without you now. I can’t.”

In closing the caption, she told Zen that it had been an “honor and privilege” to be his mother.

“It has been an honor and privilege being your mommy. I will love you for eternity. 6*23*21 – 12*5*21.”

The video has garnered over 51,000 likes. Alyssa was shown an outpouring of love and support from celebrities and strangers alike.

LaLa Anthony wrote, “Sending you so much love and comfort during this difficult time. Praying for you and your family.”

Another person expressed her condolences.

“Zen will forever guide and guard you through life. I am so sorry, Alyssa. Sending you and your family my deepest condolences 💙 Praying for your strength. I love you, mamas.”

Someone else lifted Alyssa in prayer, writing, “So sorry for your loss. My heart hurts for you, praying for your continued strength and endurance during this time of sorrow.”

On Tuesday, Zen’s father, Nick Cannon, announced during the live broadcast of his daytime talk show that his son passed away after a battle with a brain tumor.

Through tears, he said, “Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus…brain cancer. It’s tough. And I have my therapist here, who’s been helping us through it.”

Our continued prayers go out to Alyssa and Nick during this difficult time.
