Actress Eva Marcille Filed For Divorce From Husband, Michael Sterling And Requested Full Custody Of Their Children

Actress and reality star Eva Marcille, 38, filed for divorce from her husband, 41-year-old Michael Sterling, according to court documents The Shade Room shared on Instagram.

According to the documents, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star filed for divorce on March 23, 2023, in the Superior Court of Fulton County. While she didn’t give a specific reason for the divorce, Eva wrote that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

In addition to the divorce request, the All the Queen’s Men star requested primary custody over their three children; Michael Sterline Jr., Maverick Sterling and Marley Sterling (who she had with ex Kevin McCall). She asked for child support and that their assets be distributed evenly, according to the outlet.

The two welcomed their son Micheal Todd Sterling Jr. in April 2018 before getting married on Oct. 7, 2018. A year after tying the note, Eva and Michael had Maverick in September 2019.

Last year, the estranged couple announced they were adding to their family after posting a photo of the two and writing, “And another one!!!!! We are so excited that the cat is out of the bag. There goes my summer…But I could not be happier.”

A month before the sudden divorce, Michael posted a cute photo of the two smiling, and he wished his “forever Valentine” a “Happy St. Valentine’s Day.” 

Despite the post being a month old, Instagram users flocked to the comments section, wondering why the presumed happy couple was all suddenly getting a divorce. 

“Not us begging people we don’t know to fix it….but for real…please fix it,” one person wrote. “We don’t need another broken Black family. But at the end of the day, y’all have to do what’s best for y’all but just know your internet fam is hurt.”

The rest of the commenters begged them to work out their differences, highlighting that marriage will never be easy.
