Actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Sizzles In Fall Campaign For Calvin Klein

Iconic American fashion brand Calvin Klein recently unveiled its Fall 2022 ad campaign starring actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, among others.

Abdul-Mateen II shared the campaign photos via Instagram on Aug. 31. In it, he’s seen showing off his toned body in a pair of Calvin Klein boxers and denim jeans.

“Something Classic – @calvinklein #mycalvins #ad,” he wrote in the post’s caption.

That day, the fashion giant’s social media team posted the image via its Twitter page as well.

“All [eyes emoji] on @yahya. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II for Calvin Klein Fall 2022 campaign,” it wrote.

Days later, on Sept. 2, they followed up their tweet with another one promoting the items featured in his photos.

“What feels natural to you? @yahya [is] wearing new Naturals underwear. Iconic styles in new neutrals and new cuts, made in part with sustainable materials. The new season is now featured at [website link].”

Calvin Klein’s latest campaign was reportedly directed and shot by British photographer Alasdair McLellan. McLellan shot each subject in front of simple backgrounds, as CK’s ads have been done for quite some time.

Other influential figures featured in the upcoming season’s campaign include model Akon Changkou, model Precious Lee and actress and singer Michaela JaĂ© Rodriguez.

Besides the new Calvin Klein ad campaign, Abdul-Mateen II has been relatively quiet lately, especially via his social media accounts. However, the Emmy award-winning actor recently did an interview with Vulture, revealing how he felt about his roles in movies like Aquaman.

“Everything should be about getting to the truth. But sometimes you got to know which movie or genre you’re in,” he said. “Something like Aquaman, that’s clown work. Aquaman is not The Trial of the Chicago 7. You have got to get over yourself.”

The 36-year-old added that in order to “survive as an actor,” you have to be great at the craft.

“In order to survive [as an actor] and to do it well, you have to play that game and then be crafty about when you want to surprise the audience, the director, or yourself with a little bit of ‘Wow, I didn’t expect to see a Chekhovian thing or August Wilson and Aquaman, but I did.'”
