According to Deadline, acclaimed actress Lupita Nyong’o is confirmed to star in Paramount’s newest installment of the A Quiet Place franchise. Titled A Quiet Place: Day One, the spinoff is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, and although Lupita’s role isn’t clarified quite yet, the actress’ inclusion in the project is long-awaited.
A Quiet Place: Day One is confirmed not to be a direct sequel to the series’ last installment but instead a spinoff created by actor and director John Krasinski. Lupita will be featured to help expand the film’s universe and lore to set up for other movies. Her franchise debut is set to be released on March 8, 2024, with “Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller [as producers] via Platinum Dunes alongside Krasinski via his Sunday Night banner with partner Allyson Seeger, who serves as executive producer.”
Lupita’s prowess as a horror actress is hailed as an extremely positive addition to A Quiet Place. Her debut in popular horror was starring as Adelaide Wilson and her tethered version, Red, in Jordan Peele’s 2019 Us. The film was a large-scale success, making $70.3 million in ticket sales on its debut weekend. Its success was largely credited to Peele’s excellent directing and the Kenyan actress’ Academy Award-winning performance. From her role as Nakia in
Black Panther and her Oscar-winning performance as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave, Lupita is reckoned as a force across genres, and fans are excited to see her return to the horror franchise. If you've been living under a rock, you might have missed the buzz surrounding rapper… Read More
