Award-winning rapper A$AP Rocky said he strived to keep it “genuine” and “real” with his girlfriend and the mother of his first child, Grammy Award-winning singer and billionaire businesswoman Rihanna.
In the latest episode of Drink Champs, hosted by veteran New York rapper Noreaga, Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, candidly spoke about what he aspired to be in his relationship.
“That’s what I aspire to keep. Just genuine real s**t. F**k what’s [going on in the outside world and] f**k what the outside world thinks,” he told the Queens native. “It’s really about an understanding between two components: you and your significant other, that’s it. Know what I’m saying?”

“And now three components,” Drink Champs co-host, DJ, and music executive DJ EFN added.
“Yeah, now three components. You got that right; that’s true. I’m proud, man,” Mayers replied.
The Harlem rapper and Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, revealed they were expecting their first baby together back in January. Since then, they’ve been spotted enjoying nights out on the town and luxurious vacations together, with Fenty showing off her growing baby bump.
“Congratulations, man,” EFN, whose real name is Eric Fernando Narciandi, responded.
“We’re taking a shot for that,” Noreaga, whose real name is Victor Santiago, Jr., exclaimed before all three men held shots in the air for a toast.
Mayer’s sentiments were in response to the host’s initial recollection of Grammy award-winning multihyphenate Pharrell telling him that his wife, Neri Santiago, changed him for the better.
“Pharrell sat in this chair, and he said, ‘Where’s your wife at?’ [Then] he pointed to my wife, and he said, ‘You changed this man.’ Obviously, [Pharrell] meant [she] changed [me] for the better, and I love that. I believe in the sanctity of marriage,” the “Super Thug” rapper said.
Although it wasn’t publicly confirmed by the couple, Mayer and Fenty have reportedly been planning to wed in Barbados after their baby is born. They had a mock wedding in the rapper’s new video for his latest single, “D.M.B,” filmed in Harlem last summer. The video was released on May 5 and has garnered over 16 million views.
