A new Jordan Peele movie is in the works, according to Universal Pictures’ list of upcoming movies.
There’s not much information about the movie, but Universal listed it as “Untitled Fourth Film Directed by Jordan Peele.” The announcement comes eight months after his latest film, Nope, hit theaters (starring Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya).
The untitled film is slated to debut on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. Peel’s project debuts a few days after James Cameron’s Avatar 3 (Dec. 20, 2024) and Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Dec. 20, 2024). Wicked (Pt. 1) was supposed to come out on Christmas 2023, but Universal pushed it to come out on Thanksgiving 2024.
In addition to Peele’s untitled fourth film, Universal has a horror/thriller movie set to hit theaters, and it involved Peele’s production company Monkeypaw.
Unfortunately, there’s not much information about the two upcoming films. Peele has posted any announcement that would give a clue about prospective cast members, plots, settings, etc.
The movie, expected to come out on Christmas, is Peele’s fourth movie. His other films are Get Out, Us and Nope.
As Sis2Sis previously reported (at the time), Peele’s Nope gained a lot of success at the box office, earning $44 million in the first week. Now, the film accumulated over $170 million globally. His 2017 psychological horror film Get Out was his biggest movie, which earned four Oscar nominations and $255 million. Us (2019) was a doppelgänger thriller and generated $255 million globally.
One could guess that the new film would be either comedy, horror or thriller since that has been the genre of his works. Peele has talked about him having a love-hate relationship with horror movies. He’d get scared but loved them enough to keep watching. Creating those types of movies makes him “feel stronger and braver.”
