Where has the time gone? On Monday, Beyoncé continued her tradition of offering birthday shoutouts via her official website. Known for finding the most obscure baby picture of every celeb, the “Single Ladies” singer took time on Monday to wish her twins, Sir and Rumi Carter, a happy fourth birthday.
“What’s better than 1 gift… 2. Happy birthday Rumi & Sir,” Beyoncé lovingly wrote on her homepage, according to PEOPLE. In June 2017, she welcomed the twins alongside husband Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, placing Blue Ivy Carter, 9, in the role of big sister.

The singer-actress announced her pregnancy in early 2017 while hinting to fans that she was carrying twins, writing on Instagram at the time, “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”

Though Beyoncé is famously private about her personal life and family, she’s occasionally shared glimpses of Sir and Rumi over the past years. One month after giving birth in 2017, she posted her newborn son and daughter to her Instagram for the first time in a beautiful, ethereal photoshoot reminiscent of her now-famous pregnancy announcement photo.

In Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, she showed off the twins again while also getting vulnerable with fans about her pregnancy complications. The 39-year-old entertainer revealed in the music documentary that she suffered high blood pressure and preeclampsia while carrying the twins, a pregnancy condition that can lead to swelling, kidney problems and other symptoms.
Now at age four and rounding out their toddler years, Sir and Rumi are growing up before our very eyes. Soon, they’ll be ready for kindergarten and snagging awards with their talent like their parents and big sis, Blue Ivy.
Happy birthday Sir and Rumi!
