A landlord is coming for rappers and estranged lovers Cardi B and Offset due to unpaid rent and property damage, TMZ reported.
The landlord sued the couple over the lavish Beverly Hills home they rented in early 2022, but reportedly, they hadn’t kept up with the bills, rent, and utility when they abruptly left the property in October but didn’t inform the landlord.
The landlord found “significant property damage, including permanent scratches in the rugs, tile floors, curtains, and broken furniture. The place reportedly had holes in the walls and burn marks on counters, tables, and cabinets.
According to the landlord, the estimated cost to repair the damages is around $85,000.
The lawsuit follows the estranged couple’s marriage woes. As Sis2Sis reported, Cardi announced she had been single for a minute, confirming fans’ suspicions that the two were headed toward Splitsville.
“I’ve been single for a minute now,” the rapper said in an Instagram Live. “I know today has been an eventful day. I don’t pay mind to none of that. Like, I don’t care about none of that. I don’t want you to put me in none of that. I don’t know if y’all been getting clues from me, from my live…or my stories. When I put certain music or from my own followings. When it comes for today’s events and stuff, I don’t think it’s true. I don’t care to find out because I’ve been single for a minute now. But I have been too afraid to like… I’m not afraid. I just don’t know how to tell the world.”
Their relationship drama peaked when Cardi went on X (formerly Twitter) to bash her husband on Friday in a since-deleted post, writing, “@OffsetYRN you a b***h ass n***a …and trust me imma f**kin’ take it there.”
Cardi seemingly reached her breaking point when she went on IG live and had an emotional breakdown about [Offset] playing with her when she was in a vulnerable state.
