Shockingly, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Erica Mena was kicked from the show earlier this week after an explosive argument between her and co-star Spice. Mena referred to Spice as a “monkey” in the aired episode, and the incident surrounding her being released from the show has sparked rapper Lil Scrappy to speak up.
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’s producers released a statement shortly after the episode aired. It read, “Working hand-in-hand with our partners, viewers will see the impact of Erica Mena’s remarks play out over the final three episodes of the season. Effective immediately, she will not appear in the next season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”

The statement caused an uproar in the community for various reasons. Some see the firing as an adequate punishment for Mena’s words towards Spice, but others see firing her as an exploitative move since the producers still aired the episode.
One person noted, “They waited until AFTER they recorded it, edited it, promoted it and aired it. Then fired her months after it happened. They tacky.”
Mena’s former co-star, Lil Scrappy, seemed to agree with the commenter. He took to social media to express his opinion on the whole situation. He said, “I think that’s pretty bozo of them to fire somebody after they set shit up. They set you up and put you…they get you all hyped up.” Scrappy even admitted that he doesn’t even “f*** with Erica [Mena],” but he still thought it was a bad look on the show’s part. He explained, “Have somebody talking s*** to you…and then you react, and they want to fire you, you feel what I’m saying?”
“But you know, like, you put me in a position because, like, talking about my kids and all that…we fixing to fight.”
He concluded, “But I just don’t see how they can do that, how they can fire somebody when ya’ll started it. You feel me; I wouldn’t even be in front of this n**** if you didn’t put me in front of this n****. And you knew we had beef; you knew I ain’t like [them], so why you put me around [them]? The thing is they put people that play with people that don’t play…”
He acknowledged that if it were a man doing half of the things done to Mena to him, he would’ve “beat the f*** out of one of them.”
Lil Scrappy says the producers of love and hip hop set up Erica Mena then proceeded to fire her
