King Charles III seemingly extended an “olive branch” to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by including a family photo with them in it for the coronation souvenir program.
According to the Daily Mail, Charles had a 2018 family photo from his 70th birthday added to the coronation souvenir. In the photo, Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, sat on a bench with Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William’s two oldest children, Prince Georga and Princess Charlotte, sitting in their laps.
Kate and William stood behind the bench holding Prince Louis. Harry and Meghan stood next to them.
While the photo seemed innocent, Twitter users weren’t buying it precisely because Charles had plenty of opportunities to have an updated family photo and used an old one. Additionally, many don’t like that Charles chose an old image, knowing Harry and Meghan’s children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, weren’t present.
Prince Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet were in the UK last year for the late Queen jubilee. King Charles couldn’t get a family picture with his sons and their children last year, so he is using a picture from 2018 in his coronation program. They didn’t attend Lilibet BD party. https://t.co/6WPd7Fg7oY pic.twitter.com/lmI5LIk5A5

For a monarchy that is totally obsessed with image ie photos, how could King Charles have been so lacking in foresight? Did he not know he would need “family images” to bolster his reputation? His PR team needs to be fired. https://t.co/e2LvXnbqzV

The British royal family is the most embarrassing family there is. For one of the most documented families in the world, how do you not have ONE recent family picture?
If you grave robbers could smile ear-to-ear for a PR picture before the queen’s dead body was even buried.. https://t.co/HlE1L2YfRg pic.twitter.com/sydPTjF87w

Sis2Sis reported that Meghan won’t attend the coronation because Kate took the mean girl route and exclaimed that Meghan wasn’t invited “under any circumstances.”
Obviously, royal family members are still butt-hurt over the Netflix documentary, Harry’s controversial memoir, “Spare,” and their exclusive national interviews.
Harry will attend the coronation without his true queen. According to UK tabloid Daily Express, palace officials have planned every second of the event, from Harry’s arrival to the seating, to avoid confrontation between Harry and William.
Additionally, the brothers are seated far from each other, and their seats are purposefully positioned in a particular way to ensure photographers and reporters don’t capture churlish glances between them.
