Kim Kardashian got candid on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, discussing the lengths she goes to when shielding her kids from everything going on with her and their dad, Kanye West, claiming co-parenting with him was hard.
“In my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on in the outside world,” Kardashian said. “I’ve managed to…I’m holding on by a thread. I know I’m so close to that not happening, but while it’s still that way, I will protect that to the end of the earth as long as I can. I mean, my kids don’t know anything.”
Podcast host Martinez was shocked and asked how since they’re in school with kids who have access to social media.
“So, at school, some of my best friends are the teachers,” she responded. “I know what goes on at recess. I know what goes on at lunchtime. I hear what’s being talked about. None of the kids have ever said anything to my kids.”
She then said she protected them inside the house by controlling what they watched on TV, claiming it felt like a full-time job. Kardashian also said that no matter what, she would refrain from showing the stress she goes through with West in front of her kids. She used the example of playing his music when the kids asked, and she would sing along as if nothing was wrong.
“As soon as I drop them off, I can have a good cry,” she said.
Kardashian started getting emotional when she talked about having a great relationship with her dad.
“S**t…co-parenting, it’s really hard,” she said emotionally, adding that she wanted her kids to have the same experience she had with her dad. Despite it being hard, Kardashian puts her ex-husband in a good light in front of her kids to ensure they maintain a good relationship with him.
West and Kardashian co-parent North, Chicago, Saint and Psalm.
