R&B Faith Evans is set to move forward with her divorce from Stevie J despite his heartfelt post celebrating their four-year-anniversary.
According to Radar Online, court documents indicate Faith Evans “has turned over her financial records to Stevie, 50, including a list of her assets and debts. The move is a necessary step before a divorce can be finalized.”
The court documents also included a list of the singer’s assets and debts, which hasn’t been revealed to the public.
The news arrived following Stevie’s now-deleted heartfelt post celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary in July. Fans of both artists hoped the two would work their marriage out, but Faith seemingly had other plans.
Ironically, Stevie is the one who initiated the divorce from Faith back in November 2021, citing “irreconcilable differences.” He had done so after three years of marriage and even publicly accused her of cheating on him, Sis2Sis reported. In May, the veteran producer apologized to his estranged wife on Mother’s day for hurting her.
“Faith Rene Jordan, I’ve hurt you, disrespected you and humiliated you in front of the world. From this day forward, I promise to listen to your feelings and be more delicate with your heart,” he wrote in an IG post. “I also promise to build you up even more & to communicate daily with you, respect you and love on you until you’re as happy as you were when we got married. I’ve learned my lesson, and I NEVER want to live without you because God knows I’m a better man with you, and I’m asking you to find it in your heart to forgive me and allow me to rebuild our trust. Happy Mother’s Day x. I love you.”
Faith, who’s typically low-key when it comes to the media, hasn’t said much about the ongoing divorce battle. She recently posted a photo of herself in all smiles via Instagram.
“FIZZY!” she wrote in the Oct. 16 post’s caption.
