The event opened its doors at 5:30 p.m. and closed at 7:30 p.m. Telfar posted about the experience on social media along with their rules.
Eventgoers were encouraged to grab Telfar shopping bags in their preferred colors, but duffle bags, circle bags, and any other collaborations were prohibited. Each shopper had a five-bag limit, and it was first come, first serve.
Telfar clarified that those who attended the sale also agreed to be filmed since Teflar TV hosts were present. All major credit and debit cards were accepted, and they even allowed paying by Klarna to be an option. The Klarna option was for those who couldn’t or didn’t want to pay all at once, setting up a payment plan where they paid in four installments every two weeks.
People were allowed to purchase in line; they were given wristbands to inform the workers what color and size the person bought. Cash wasn’t accepted, and all of the sales were final.
Telfar’s Rainbow event also had celebrity appearances from Baby Tate and Trapselyna.

Girls United talked with Aishaya Caul, the second person in line, who took an Uber from Queens to Brooklyn for the sale.
“It’s so important for me to get a bag; I love supporting Black businesses and what they do,” Caul said. “So, I wanted to come out to support, and this is my first bag I will be buying.”
Telfar Clemens founded the brand in 2005, and since then, celebrities like Lil Nax X, Solange, Tinashe, and Beyoncé have sported Telfar fashion. Beyoncé even mentioned the brand in her latest song “SUMER RENAISSANCE.”
Imani Dickens attended the event and expressed to Girls United how much she adored the idea and meaning behind the sale.
“I love the influence on fashion,” Dickens said. “I love the fact that they keep it black. I love the fact that we’re out at Rainbow doing this pop-up event. That’s very Black and a part of our culture, very unique to our buying power, and it matches our dollars.”
The in-person event was a massive success to where Telfar is doing it again but online on Sept. 23.

Same rules, but the company is omitting its usual bag policy benefit.
