Rapper, actor, and businessman 50 Cent reportedly banned veteran R&B singer Trey Songz from his annual Tycoon Houston Weekend for “acting crazy” at the event.
According to VIBE, 50 shared a now-deleted Instagram post of Songz holding an alcohol bottle and the words “BANNED FROM TYCOON” across the image.
“Last TYCOON he crashed a Wraith,” 50, who became an official Texas resident in 2021, wrote in the post’s caption. “This TYCOON, he was acting crazy, wanting to fight and s**t over the girls. He broke some s**t up in his room. Nah, tell @treysongz he can’t come. SMH.”
The Queens native reportedly held his second annual Tycoon Houston Weekend event in the southern city, lasting from Aug. 25 to Aug. 28. He claimed that at the big event, numerous mishaps took place involving Songz and, as such, decided to ban the 37-year-old from participating in future events.
Ironically, the rapper previously defended Songz after the singer was accused of allegedly assaulting Andrea Buera at a party during NBA All-Star Weekend in 2018. At the time, 50 posted a video of Andrea with a money bag emoji, hinting that her accusations was driven by financial gain.
“This stripper joint Andrea got Lisa Bloom talking bout Trey hit her, everybody know he ain’t hit her,” he wrote. “This a money play smh anything to get the Bag,” the rap star turned TV executive wrote in the caption, ending the post with the hashtag #thesehoescrazy.”
Since then, Songz has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women, including one who identified as Jane Doe in a $20 million lawsuit filed against him in February. In the suit, she alleged to have gone through sexual assault, gender violence, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment. However, in July 2022, Judge Richard L. Fruin dismissed the case per her request to do so “without prejudice.”
