Beloved vegan chef and social media personality Tabitha Brown recently addressed her new show, It’s CompliPlated, being bumped from its primetime slot.
Brown dropped a video statement via Instagram, addressing, It’s CompliPlated being moved from Thursdays at 9 p.m. to Tuesdays at 1 p.m. on the Food Network.
“I know I’ve said this so many times before, but for whatever reason, people just don’t seem to believe me, okay,” she said in the Instagram statement. “There is not a company, there is not a network, there is not a person, place, or thing that is going to change who I am.”

She continued driving her point home, saying that she wouldn’t “shift” even “a little bit.”
“I’m not going to change,” she added. “I’m not going to shift a little bit for your audience. I’m not going to talk a little bit [differently] for your comfort. I’m not going to change…If it ain’t enough for you, then you’re not for me. And if I bring it to your attention that — ‘Wait, I don’t like how this feels; I feel like you’re trying to change me or erase my personality or my culture’ — and you get upset by that instead of hearing me from my heart, I also don’t want to be in business with you.”
Naturally, Black Twitter got wind of Tabitha’s video and defended her stance. They also questioned Food Network’s intentions for rescheduling It’s CompliPlated air time.
“I just saw a Black woman call Tabitha Brown arrogant for not subjugating herself to [white dot emoji] supremacist ideals of how she should act on her show & I’m so disgusted. [One,] Tabitha [doesn’t bother anyone]. [Two,] being threatened by her Blackness despite her being super positive is unhinged,” @ReecieColbert wrote.

“Food Network should be ashamed of themselves for what they trying to do to Tabitha Brown. SMH,” @StoopKid_Syd said.

A spokesperson from the Food Network has since released a statement to PEOPLE addressing the controversy.
“Tabitha’s energy and unique point of view are the reasons that we will continue to support It’s CompliPlated. We’ve moved the series to our daytime cooking block where diehard cooking fans, especially those who are looking for vegan dishes, can enjoy it,” the spokesperson said.
