Cardi B might be the next celebrity to venture into the beauty industry with Bardi Beauty.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s company, Washpoppin Inc., filed papers to trademark “Bardi Beauty” on April 16, TMZ reported. The papers state Bardi Beauty intends to release various items, including makeup, hair care products, nail polish and skincare items.
Cardi signed the trademark papers with her government name, Belcalis Almanzar. This news isn’t shocking because she told Entertainment Tonight a beauty line is “something that I want to do” in 2019. She added the products would come out “very soon.”
Clearly, the pandemic has not stopped Cardi’s bag. On Friday, she dropped her latest collaboration with Reebok, the Summertime Fine Collection. The collection is her first clothing line with the company, and every item is $80 or lower. Affordability is important to the Bronx native because she knows what it’s like to be broke.
“I remember when Reebok came out with hot-pink, neon-green styles, and I wanted them so bad, but I couldn’t afford them. My mom, she used to work and only wear black OG Reeboks, and that’s all she wore. She’d wear the same pair for like three years,” Cardi recalled to Footwear News in November 2020.
“Affordability is No. 1. I know where [my fans] stand,” she continued. “I wanted to make something so affordable so that they could have a piece of me. I always make sure it’s affordable even when it comes to my OnlyFans, my merch. I always say to keep in mind the price. These are my fans. I don’t want to be taxing my fans.”
All she does is win, and she has no intention of stopping.
“I’m such an ambitious person,” she told Footwear News. “I feel like I lost so much. Now that I’m winning, it’s a very addicting feeling.”
Are you gonna cop some Bardi Beauty, or will you wait for the reviews?
