After his recent arrest, Los Angeles police discovered guns at rapper A$AP Rocky’s L.A. home.
According to news reports, authorities searched his residence last week and left the home with multiple firearms. Sources said detectives launched a full-on investigation to run ballistic tests on the weapons to determine whether or not Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, was the triggerman in a November 2021 shooting.
Cops have also been planning to do extensive background checks on the guns they found to determine who purchased them, where they came from, and if they were stolen.
Mayers was previously arrested at LAX on Apr. 20 following a vacation in Barbados with his pregnant girlfriend, singer, entrepreneur, and billionaire, Rihanna. He has been under investigation by the LAPD after a victim in the shooting claimed he approached him on the street with a handgun and shot him three to four times. The unnamed person added that a bullet grazed his left hand.
The Harlem rapper was reportedly “blindsided” by police when they showed up at the airport terminal, where he and Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, arrived back in the U.S. on a private jet. Law enforcement revealed they chose not to let him or his team know in advance and that his arrest had been planned for over a week.
“At least” ten officers awaited the 33-year-old at the terminal, leaving his girlfriend “shocked” as she “looked on” while he was handcuffed. He was then booked into a local jail, with bail set at $550,000, and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. However, he was released shortly after.
Mayer’s fellow A$AP Mob member, A$AP Bari, recently called out another member, A$AP Relli, for allegedly “snitching” on him, claiming that he was responsible for the “Praise The Lord” rapper’s arrest in Calif.
Mayer was scheduled to make a court appearance on Aug. 17.
