5 Times Lizzo Served Looks & Turned Heads With Her Fashion Style

Outside of Lizzo’s commanding vocals and captivating rap skills, the 33-year-old songwriter has also been known for her daring fashion style. From infamously showing off her butt cheeks in a black t-shirt dress to donning an eccentric pink frilly gown at the 2019 Met Gala, Lizzo clearly isn’t afraid to go there — and we love her for it.

In a “73 Questions” segment by VOGUE, Lizzo admitted last year that being a plus-sized Black woman has caused constant scrutiny of her outfit choices.

“Being a big black woman, wearing what I wore on stage was instantly political, and it made a statement and I’m grateful for that,” the “Good As Hell” singer revealed. “It was annoying at first, but I’m so grateful to be a part of moving the conversation in fashion forward, for bigger bodies and black women.”

Known for her body-positive lyrics and messages, Lizzo has proved time and time again that she’s not worried about her haters and isn’t compromising her fashion style for anyone. Read on to discover five times she shut down the scene with her unique and eye-catching outfits.

Multicolored Crochet Bikini Top

Rocking a multicolored crochet bikini top during an outing last week, Lizzo showed off her summertime fineness while also wearing a pair of baggy, distressed jeans. The woven swimwear style has been trending recently, with stars Kylie Jenner and Julianna Hough also being spotted with crochet bikinis for the summer.

Lizzo makes the style her own with ‘90s style brown lip gloss, bamboo earrings and the “Truth Hurts” singer’s signature curly hair.

Purple Bodycon Dress

In April, Lizzo turned heads while wearing a purple body con dress with mesh sides, which hugged the singer’s curves and showed off her flawless legs. Pairing the fit with sparkly hoops, peach-colored strappy heels and a beat face, she posed for pictures while also donning a bedazzled “Lizzo” belly chain.

“100% that b***h,” indeed.

Black Off-Shoulder Body Suit

Last Thursday, Lizzo posted a photo of herself slaying in a sleek off-shoulder black bodysuit, complete with frills and heels. She captioned the post, “You are what you earring B***H,” while wearing a high ponytail and earrings that spell “SEXY.”

The “Juice” singer was styled by Black designer Jason Robert, known for his work with Issa Rae, Marsai Martin and Kehlani.

Beige Evening Gown

For Lizzo’s October 2020 VOGUE cover, Lizzo wore a beige evening gown with spaghetti straps. The dress was brought to life by Black fashion designer LaQuan Smith.

Taking the moment to acknowledge body-positivity,  plus-size clothing and their growing space in the fashion industry, she wrote “Ima say it like this… s/o to my size 18+ beauties out there. We getting our visibility and FINALLY brands are beginning to catch up to how fly we’ve always been.”

“Till then… shake yo belly, love handles, and jiggly thighs, love ur double chin and wear them bikinis cus u a bad b***h,” she added, offering advice and inspiration for others with similar body types.

Bedazzled Off-Shoulder Crop Top

Perfect for the summertime, Lizzo showed off her waistline in a beige, bedazzled off-shoulder crop top with extravagant sheer sleeves last fall. She paired the casual fit with a ripped pair of jeans and an “L” necklace, proving yet again that she just doesn’t miss.
